Merely 60 years after Oregon's first chairlift was built on Mt. Hood, you can now reach nearly 400 trails and 13 unique ski areas statewide. That's a massive variety of bowls, chutes, and glades no matter how you carve them.

Starting with the Mt. Hood area, Timberline is Oregon's only "ski-in, ski -out" resort. World-famous for its summer skiing and snowboarding, Timberline boasts the nation's longest ski season. Mt. Hood Meadows, the largest ski area on Mt. Hood, features 10 lifts, including four high-speed quads. Mt. Hood Skibowl is the largest night ski area in the U.S. with 34 lit runs. Cooper Spur is perfect for beginners and families.

Further south in the Central Cascades, Hoodoo Ski Area offers a spectacular setting and night skiing Thursdays through Saturdays. Majestic Mt. Bachelor delivers a nationally recognized ski and board experience, with 11 chairs, seven of which are high-speed. Willamette Pass is a favorite for its casual atmosphere and wonderful scenery.

In the Southern Cascades/Siskyou Mountains region, the summit of 7,533 foot Mt. Ashland offers a dramatic panorama and 23 runs. In the Blue Mountain/Wallowa Mountains region of northeastern Oregon, Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort is a powder paradise with short lines, low prices and family fun. In the Warner Mountains, just north of the California border near Lakeview, Warner Canyon is another small, family ski area with nice dry powder.
