The Hood To Coast Race Series kicks off at Timberline Lodge.

For ski areas across Oregon summer marks a whole new season of fun and unique events for the whole family including music festivals, competitions, and beer and wine festivals. Check out this schedule of exciting events that will take you into Oregon’s incredible alpine environments. The hills are alive with wildflowers during the summertime at Mt. Hood Meadows.

Mt. Hood Meadows

4th Annual Uphill Challenge, August 5
The Uphill Challenge is an uphill running or walking race beginning in the main parking lot of Mt. Hood Meadows and finishing at the top of the Stadium Chairlift for a total of 1.2 miles with 621 feet of elevation gain. 250 dollars in prize money will be awarded to the top male and female finishers.

Wine Festival, August 19
Taste a variety of the Northwest’s finest wines with stunning mountain views. The 15-dollar entry fee includes five tastes from brands including Eola Hills, Cathedral Ridge Winery, Naked Winery and Maryhill Winery. Choose your flight from sparkling wines to award winning Pinot Noirs and Mt. Hood Meadows’ very own private reserve labels.

Great American Eclipse Viewing, August 21
Eclipse viewers are invited to take in this once in a lifetime natural wonder from the slopes of Mt. Hood Meadows. The resort, just outside the zone of totality, is making overnight RV and self-contained vehicle spaces available on a first reserved basis. Two hundred parking spaces will be available in Mt. Hood Meadows’ main paved parking lot. The resort will also run its Stadium scenic chairlift from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, August 21 for high elevation viewing of the eclipse.

Beer and Cider Fest, September 10
Enjoy a variety of local beers and ciders in a relaxing alpine setting. Local brewers will pour tasters of different seasonals, wine and cider will also be poured for added variety. The 14-dollar entry fee includes four-ounce tasting tokens and a commemorative mug, additional tokens are available for one-dollar each. Participants are encouraged to partake in 10-dollar scenic chairlift rides or hiking during their visit.

Mt. Bachelor will be open all the way to the summit for JulySki!

Mt. Bachelor

JulySki, July 2–4
Thanks to an extra deep snowpack this winter, Mt. Bachelor is running three chairlifts for three days for skiing and riding in July. JulySki will start from the Sunrise Base Area where tickets, rentals and parking will be available 7:30a.m. - 1:30 p.m. The Sunrise lift will start spinning at 8:00 a.m. with Summit open until 1:00 p.m.

Gravity Race Series, July 14, July 28, August 11, August 25
This is the third summer of the Gravity Race Series, a non-sanctioned, four-part local biking competition. Competitors of all ability levels and ages are invited to compete on the downhill course. Simply show up on the evening of the race or pre-register online to participate. This laid back downhill mountain biking event is focused on fun and local camaraderie.

Under Armour Mountain Running Series 2017, July 22
Created for trail running enthusiasts and professionals, this new North American trail running series provides unmatched racing experiences in beautiful mountain environments. Races include a 50k, marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K divisions. The racecourse winds through diverse climates, distances and varying elevations built to push athletes at every level to their personal limits.

Oregon Enduro Series & Volcanic Bike and Brew Festival, August 26–27
The third-annual Bike and Brew Festival features the final stop of the Oregon Enduro Series for adults and kids. The event includes several Central Oregon Bike shops, numerous breweries from across the Northwest and many other vendors as well as free bike demos and live music in the West Village Base Area.

Timberline Lodge & Ski Area

36th annual Hood to Coast Relay, August 25
This overnight, long-distance relay race is one of the longest and largest relays in the world and starts right at Timberline Lodge on the tallest peak in Oregon. The relay travels through Portland, over the Oregon Coast Range, finishing at Seaside on the Oregon Coast. The course runs approximately 200 miles with an estimated 12,600 participants.

Mountain Music Festival, September 5
This all day music festival at Timberline Lodge over Labor Day weekend features young string bands in the folk, bluegrass, and Celtic scene. This free festival takes place in the outdoor music amphitheater from 12:30 to sunset with an adjacent outdoor beer and wine garden. Attendees are invited to bring an instrument and join in the fun on the pickin’ patio.

Anthony Lakes

Mountain Bike Festival, August 5
The annual Mountain Bike festival at Anthony Lakes features bike demos, guided bike rides, a kids bike park, BBQ, live music and more. The lifts will also be running for chairlift rides.

Mt. Ashland

Mt. Ashland 5K, July 8
The Mt. Ashland 5K is billed as America’s friendliest 5K with hugs at the finish. This monumental 5K starts at the Mt. Ashland Lodge at 6,500-foot elevation and winds its way to the 7,533-foot summit of the mountain. It then takes the road back down to the finish in the parking lot.
