Mt Hood Meadows Terrain Parks Rated Top 10

By Ski Oregon | on October 23, 2017
News

The Newschoolers.com Park Poll has rated Mt. Hood Meadows terrain parks among the best in the North America. The Park Poll results were announced Friday and Meadows Parks were rated 7th in North America.

Meadows Terrain Park Manager T.J. Moloney says, “We pretty much got into the top 10 by catering to the broadening demographic of terrain park users and families. We focus on our core customers with the features and creative park flow and variety they desire. But the family cross courses offered in our parks were hugely popular designed for all levels of users,” said T.J. Moloney, Meadows Terrain Park Manager. “We built and maintained up to seven different parks with everything from our pro level park on Vista to the beginner features in The Zoo. At the height of the season we had 148 terrain features in our parks.”

Moloney says the Top 10 rating is especially gratifying, considering the 556 inches of snow Meadows received last season. “We want to thank our loyal park riders who rated us so high in the Newschooler poll. We were constantly rebuilding, to provide a great riding experience for our park regulars and newcomers, as well as catering to the numerous high school league and USASA events. We’ve invested in additional machinery like the Pisten Bully Park Pro snowcats we’ll be getting this year to become the fastest growing and best supported terrain park program in the country.”

Meadows builds and maintains up to seven terrain parks of varying skill levels, including an 18 foot halfpipe.

Meadows will add two Pisten Bully Park Pro 400 snowcats to it’s growing fleet of high tech groomers this season. The cats are precisely tailored for the needs of park builders and enthusiasts. The broadening appeal of terrain features, even subtle features used in the beginner terrain has increased the demand for this specialized equipment.
