Timberline Lodge Creates a 25,000 Square Foot U of O Logo

By Ski Oregon | on January 11, 2015
News

When the Ducks made the National Championship, Timberline knew they needed to do something big to show our support. They got with our Mountain Operations team and started brainstorming. The result – a 25,000 square foot University of Oregon logo carved into the Palmer Snowfield with our Prinoth BR350 snow cat. The build took hours of planning to get the GPS coordinates mapped for the U of O logo, and then just under 3 hours to complete the logo on-hill. The weather cooperated during the morning hours, but then clouds rolled in toward the end of the build. Luckily they got a shot of the final creation before the clouds completely closed out the view.

(Disclaimer: Timberline used photoshop to boost the contrast of the ‘O’, but that was it – no other trickery!).
